Anyone can send in ask memes/starters or reply to starters that are tagged as “open starter” (This doesn’t guarantee a reply, but it does offer a better chance of getting a thread started). SHIPPING. . I personally am very lax about shipping. If it seems like our muses would have good romantic chemistry without it being weird, odds are I’m down for a shippy thread. . EARLY LIFE . Riley Aspen Hale was born in Beacon Hills, California. She is the older sister of Cora, and the younger sister of Derek and Laura Hale. She grew up a fairly well behaved girl, never really getting into any MAJOR trouble or making any big waves anywhere - until the fire.. THE FIRE .
When Riley, Laura, and Derek lost their mother and and most of their family in a fire, the 11 year old was devastated, the bright, happy demeanor for which she was known beginning to dull more and more as time went by. She left with Derek and Laura, living with them in New York for several years until she was old enough to move out on her own, and becoming more and more withdrawn and muted in comparison to her former self.. LAURA'S DEATH . The murder of Laura Hale broke something that had already been cracked inside the young wolf. Following Derek back to Beacon Hills, she spiraled - beginning to experiment heavily with drinking and drug use, reckless sexual behavior; any unhealthy but effective coping strategy she could find. Riley fell into a deep depression, officially diagnosed soon afterward.
. CURRENTLY . Riley has an incredibly big heart, however she can come across as flat or apathetic at times when she's simply too numb to put in the energy. This does not mean she doesn't like whoever she's talking to, the episodes just come in waves. She is fiercely loyal, especially to her family, and will not hesitate to wolf out and jump to a loved one's defense when necessary.She struggles heavily with depression and addiction, and can be difficult to handle when under the influence depending on substance, circumstances, etc . . . Her instinct tends to be to try and push people away for fear of dragging them down with her.
